‘I’ve discovered this unique restaurant, thanks to my friend Felicia who has a house in the region, and, since, I go there every time I’m in the Cotentin. And every single time, I’m as excited to go as a little girl on Christmas Eve!
It’s a cabin on the beach, unmatched tables and chairs, feet in the sand and a stunning view. For the menu: whelk-mayo, clams, oysters, mussels and fries (my absolute fav) or sausages (grilled in the chimney)- homemade potato puree, it’s all very simple, the produce, all fresh, are coming from local producers and it’s so good. When in season, you can even order (the day before) a lobster that you can enjoy grilled with some garlic butter. Wash it down with some local cider or a cold fresh Quincy, this is my vision of paradise!
Inside the cabin, there is a decor of cool knick-knacks (special mention for the cross-stitch canvas and other kitch trinkets) and a self-service piano that people will play regularly, with the crackling sound of the fire.
I love this timeless place, where all the service and restauration rules seemed to be abolished (no reservation possible, you take the seat you want on the beach, you write down yourself your order on a piece of paper that you will bring to the bar etc…) but they truly focus on the essential: the plate and the place, magic, unique…’
