What about a long week-end in Lagos?
I’m dreaming about sleeping at Casa Mae.
In this XIXth century’s house, there are 5 suites, a healthy bar and a gastronomic restaurant. There is also a more modern area, whitewashed, with 22 sublime rooms, an organic café and 3 dreamy bungalows with open-air showers.
At Casa Mae, everything you eat comes from the property’s organic garden, we walk on hand-woven rugs from the Portuguese yarn factory, Mizette Nielsen, body lotions are placed in ceramicist Ricardo Lopes’ pots, and the staff’s uniforms are made by local brand La Paz.
In this holiday house overlooking the city’s historical centre and the seaside, we drink natural wine (of course), we snack around the grill, shop local in the little concept store, dive in the triangular swimming pool, do our yoga under the sun, watch a film in the open-air cinema at dusk, surf in the ocean or we take cooking classes in the middle of the vegetable garden…
There you go… Finally, paradise is not that far.
