Sleeping in the dunes in Holland

This Summer, we’re going to sleep in a little wood house on the Hague beaches of Kijkduin.

We’ve booked a bungalow on the sand, between the Northern Sea and the dunes. With 2 bedrooms, a small living room, a dining area and an open-plan kitchen, our mini house on stilts can accommodate 4 or 5 people. In case it gets cold, there’s a wood-burner, a wheelbarrow to bring back the groceries (or sleepy baby), a vast beach for walks and wifi to stay connected.

If you can’t stay put in just one place, the bungalows are a 30-minute drive from the museums and Haye’s historical centre. But honestly, I’ll just be happy drinking some red wine on the terrace while Mister will have a go at kite-surfing on Zandmotor’s peninsula.

When night comes, we will have diner at Suiderstrand, a boho chic beach hut, just a 5-minute walk from the bungalow, where we’ll be counting the shooting stars, I don’t know yet.

Magical, these Robinson Crusoe’s houses are super coveted so I highly recommend booking in advance for your week-end in paradise.
